Overview
As the Lead Designer, I collaborated with stakeholders and the development team to create an interactive app that helps students improve their Chinese handwriting. The app focuses on reinforcing the correct stroke order and proportional structure, starting with the students’ own last names—a personalized approach that makes learning more engaging and meaningful.
To support educators, we designed an intuitive interface that allows teachers to introduce, update, and manage new words within the app. Students can log in to practice writing, receiving real-time feedback as the app detects mistakes or inconsistencies in stroke order and proportions. Their performance is then assessed with a scoring system, providing a structured way to track progress and improvement over time.
This project was a balance of educational effectiveness and user-friendly design, ensuring both students and teachers could seamlessly interact with the app. By integrating digital tools into traditional writing practice, we aimed to create a more engaging and structured learning experience that encourages mastery of Chinese handwriting.
